Pooles Park Primary School
Our very first project began over 15 years ago
A secret green oasis, surrounded by London's busiest council estates in Finsbury Park, Pooles Park Primary School has adopted a whole school approach to engaging in Environmental Education.

Features of the project:

Food and wildlife gardens
Wildlife pond
Insect habitats including dead and living hedges, an insect loggery and bee boxes
Hens’ enclosure
Wildflower meadows
An Earth Kitchen including a Cob oven and reading corner
Composting area
Teachers are able to utilise these resources for cross-curricular learning. Many of the children live on the surrounding estates without gardens and often experience other barriers to green space access but at school they are able to explore, nature and engage in environment themed activities on a daily basis, through hands-on interaction.
